Model and television actor turned politician Smriti Irani is a magnificent woman. She rose to fame with Ekta Kapoor's one of the longest running popular TV show Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi which boasted of an elaborate ensemble cast. Smriti Irani played the central character Tulsi in the show, and the show became such a huge hit that it's still fresh in people's minds. Needless to say, Smriti became a household name.

After this show, Smriti went on to do many other shows like Kavita, Ramayan, Virrudh and Maniben.com before she started off her political career. While a lot of us idolize her for the great work that she has done and continues to do, here's one little trivia we bet you won't be aware of about her.

So apparently, Smriti Irani started off her career by participating in Miss India pageant in 1998, and interestingly along with her actress Gauri Pradhan Tejwani, who happens to be wife of Hiten Tejwani was a finalist in the competition.

Mind blown, right?

Gauri started her career with popular show Kutumb and went on to do shows like Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, Special Squad to name a few.
