TRPs are important; actors and makers cannot do anything but do our best - Hiba Nawab of Woh Toh Hai Albelaa

Actress Hiba Nawab, whom we have seen in shows like Tere Sheher Mein, Jijaji Chhat Par Hain, among others shows, is currently seen as the lead in Rajan Shahi's Woh Toh Hai Albelaa. She plays the role of Sayuri, and has reunited with the filmmaker after 7 years. She got talking to India Forums about the kind of work she was wanting to do, to what extent do TRPs matter, and some more.

As an actor, over the journey, how important have TRPs been for you? And how do you treat the same?

We cannot do anything about it and do our best. TRPs are important, that's how the show will run because numbers are important. I don't think makers or actors can do anything, the best we can do is give our best and hope for the best, and of course, a good response from the audience.

What would you say sets this show apart form existing TV shows?

It is not one of those typical daily soaps as far as I have shot, and with every single sequence, there is a twist coming up and you don't recover from one twist and there is another coming up. The show is not trying to stretch the story and there is something new waiting in another episode and it makes it different. I have full faith in Rajan ji, he has been giving such beautiful masterpieces and he is doing a wonderful job. As an actor also, I am always very curious about what will happen next in the show.

Is this the kind of work you've been looking for? Something you've been waiting and is on your check list?

As an actor, I wasn't looking for any character but I was looking for a change because I was doing comedy for a long time and wanted to explore myself as an actor. When I got a call from Rajan ji and when he narrated the story to me, I was convinced because this was something I wasn't doing at all and it is different and it was very very challenging. I thought I should accept the challenge and go forward. And if anyone would ask me what I would really want to do in future, I want to do something like a series on Indian wonder woman, a super heroine, I would really want to do that.
