The admirable actor who stole our hearts with each and every appearance he made on the big screen, Tom Hanks has brought a smile on our lips since the very first Toy Story movie as he voiced the character of Woody. The Academy Award-winning actor has been uplifting our spirits for the last 24 years. The loyal, determined and ready for an adventure character - Woody is a toy every child dreamed of having.
With the release date of Toy Story 4 nearing, Tom says the upcoming film is as profound as the other installments of the popular franchise. “The ‘Toy Story‘ films accomplish what timeless classics aim for,” Hanks said in a statement.
“They are full of innocent characters who face an endless trail of adventures. We all know the likes of Woody, Buzz, Bo Peep, and Mr. and Mrs. Potato Head, and we wonder who we would be…if we were toys,” he added.
Hanks has voiced the character of Woody for 24 years and said each film in the series has taken Woody to surprising new places.
The Terminal star also added, “We’ve been through profound examinations of community, of family, of growing older and finding a new purpose. And this one ends up being just as profound and new as the previous movies. They’re all toys. As long as they don’t break, they can live forever.”
The new installment in the franchise introduces many new toys which are taking over the fans. The film welcomes Forky, voiced by Tony Hale, Duke Caboom, voiced by Keanu Reeves, Gabby Gabby, voiced by Christina Hendricks, Ducky, and Bunny, voiced by Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele, and Giggles McDimples, voiced by Ally Maki.
