We have all been introduced to some of the finest web series' this year and while the upward trend continues, thrillers are something that have carved a niche for themselves. An upcoming web series on Zee5, that aims to get a little history with the thrill factor is Naxalbari. It features Aamir Ali, Rajeev Khandelwal, and Tina Dutta in pivotal roles.
We got in touch with Tina and asked her about the experience, digital space, and more. Read excerpts from the interview here.
Tell us about your experience of shooting for the show.
Naxalbari was shot in the peak lockdown in Goa during the month of July, and it was quite a roller coaster ride. While prioritizing my safety throughout the shoot was of utmost concern, I had to keep in mind the intensity of the show and my character which did require some certain amount of important prep, so balancing both was quite a task but something I will never forget!
How has the digital space treated you and what makes it different?
Being a part of the digital space has been great! It's really coming up at the moment, and the content it has to offer is so diverse and there is so much variety for people to choose from, which is the best part about it!
Many remember you as the girl from Uttaran even today, what is it like to breakthrough that image?
Iccha has always been one of my most memorable characters to date, but I am quite happy to be trying out new roles because as an actor, it is very important to experiment, it is very important to be versatile with your work and try out new things, as that is when you can showcase your true acting abilities!
With the webspace overflowing with content, what would you say is that sets a show apart from the rest?
I feel that nowadays, content is the king for any show or web show to make it big. The content has to be relatable to the audiences, there has to be a strong connection of some sort and the webspace is offering just that for people to watch. The other good aspect about the web world is that it has something to offer for people from all walks of life and age groups, hence shows with diverse content are doing very well on the webspace.
