As reality shows go, Indian idol is definitely one of the most entertaining. This singing based show was based on the popular American idol series and 10 years back it made its debut on Indian TV. This show has given the industry many talented singers and also new faces to the big and small screens. We loved to watch the show as the contestants went head on and sung some of the best songs ever. But the show auditions were a big hit as not only good singers but some of the wackiest participants were seen here! Let's take a look back at the winners, judges and the little things that made this show so awesome!

Season 1 (2004-2005)

Winner: Abhijeet Sawant from Mumbai.

Hosts: Mini Mathur and Aman Verma.

Judges: Anu Malik, Sonu Nigam and Farah Khan.


Indian Idol Season 2 (2005-2006)

Winner:  Sandeep Acharya from Gurgaon.

Hosts:  Mini Mathur and Aman Verma.

Judges: Anu Malik, Sonu Nigam and Farah Khan.


Season 3 (2007)

Winner: Prashant Tamang from Kolkata.

Hosts: Hussain Kuwajerwala and Mini Mathur.

Judges:  Anu Malik, Javed Akhtar, Alisha Chinai, and Udit Narayan.


Indian Idol 4 (2008-2009)

Winner: Sourabhee Debbarma from Agartala.

Hosts: Hussain Kuwajerwala and Meiyang Chng.

Judges: Anu Malik, Javed Akthar, Sonali Bendre and Kailash Kher.


Indian Idol 5 (2010)

Winner:  Sreeramchandra Mynampati from Hyderabad.

Hosts: Abhijeet Sawant and Prajakta Shukre.

Judges: Anu Malik, Salim Merchant and Sunidhi Chauhan.


Indian Idol 6

Winner: Vipul Mehta from Amritsar.

Hosts: Hussain Kuwajerwala and Minimathur.

Judges: Anu Malik, Sunidhi Chauhan, Asha Bhosle and Salim Merchant.


Indian Idol also gave us two power packed seasons of Indian Idol Junior where we saw some really amazing talent coming from the little participants. Indian Idol Junior was a major Success as it had a huge impact on the audience and they loved to see the talented kids sing some of the toughest and challenging songs. Let's take a look at the two seasons of Indian idol junior.


Indian Idol Junior

Winner: Anjana Padmanabhan.

Hosts: Karan Wahi and Mandira Bedi.

Judges: Vishal Dadlani, Shekhar Ravjiani and Shreya Ghoshal.


Indian Idol Junior Season 2

Winner: Ananya Sritam Nanda.

Hosts: Hussain Kuwajerwala and Asha Negi.

Judges: Vishal Dadlani, Sonakshi Sinha and Salim Merchant.
