Shailesh Lodha's exit from Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah in 2022 shocked both fans and the television industry. This iconic show has been a long-time favorite, maintaining a strong fan base. However, recent events, especially the departure of several long-standing cast members, have brought negativity to the show, and Shailesh's sudden exit added to the drama.

Shailesh, a renowned writer and poet, became a household name through his role as Taarak Mehta on the show. His bond with co-star Dilip Joshi was a highlight of the show, making their on-screen friendship one of the best pairings. For many viewers, Shailesh's portrayal of Taarak Mehta became his identity, overshadowing his real name.

In 2022, Shailesh's departure from Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah stunned everyone. Fans were heartbroken, and the reason behind his exit left many in disbelief. Shailesh revealed that it wasn’t about money but rather the behavior of the producer, Asit Kumarr Modi. According to him, Modi’s derogatory remarks and rude attitude towards him led to his decision to quit.

Shailesh shared in an interview with Lallantop that while working on Taarak Mehta, he was also invited to appear on Good Night India, where he recited a poem. This did not sit well with Asit Kumarr Modi, who apparently used harsh language when questioning Shailesh’s appearance on the show. Shailesh was taken aback by the rude remarks, which left him furious.

“I shot for it and even recited a poem there. A day before the telecast, the producer called me and used inappropriate language. I was deeply offended,” Shailesh recalled. When he confronted Modi, the producer continued to use disrespectful language and even referred to the team as his servants. This treatment was the final straw for Shailesh.

Shailesh couldn’t tolerate the way he was spoken to and, feeling disrespected, decided to leave. On February 17, 2022, he sent an email to Asit Kumarr Modi, stating that he would no longer continue with the show. The actor’s exit marked the end of an era for the show. After leaving Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, Shailesh Lodha found a new role in Advocate Anjali Awasthi, marking a fresh start in his career.
