During the chat, Ranbir made a cheeky remark, revealing that Anushka was a “champion” at friend-zoning people. He didn’t stop there and dropped an even bigger bombshell. He mentioned that one of Anushka’s actor friends had fallen for her, but she had friend-zoned him. This revelation clearly left Anushka a little taken aback, but she was quick to provide some context to the situation.

Anushka shared that growing up in an army household, where her father was in the army, she was always surrounded by male friends. She explained how her upbringing shaped her view on relationships. For Anushka, bonding with both boys and girls came naturally, and she had never seen friendships through a gendered lens. Her approach was always more casual and open, which made her not look at male friends any differently.

Toh kya hai ke hum log… Meri aisa hi nahi thi ki meri ladkiya hi friends thi. Hum log kitchen sets ke saath khelte the sirf aisa nahi tha. Toh hum log matlab… ladhko ke saath bhi khelte the.” Her words showcased how she grew up in an environment where gender didn’t play a role in defining friendships.

On the personal front, Anushka married cricketer Virat Kohli in December 2017, and the couple’s journey together has been a fairytale. They welcomed their daughter, Vamika, in January 2021 and, more recently, their son, Akaay Kohli, in February 2024. Their family life has mostly been kept private, with the couple residing in London.
