'This is the best show I have ever picked up' - Rakesh Bapat

Rakesh Bapat, who played the very sincere lover of Saloni in Saat Phere is nowadays busy with his dream role on NDTV Imagine’s Ek Packet Umeed. On a starting note, the actor says that this is the best show that he has ever managed to pick up.

Ek Packet Umeed which depicts the tale of all genres of women living under one roof, ‘Umeed Bhavan’, has Rakesh Bapat playing the sole male seen in the serial. Very delighted to be in the midst of so many ladies, Rakesh quips, “I love working with all the women in the serial and enjoy being the only male in the show”.

Talking on his role in Ek Packet Umeed, the actor says, “Anuj is an MBA graduate, and he seeks for love and affection from all the ladies in Umeed Bhavan, as he is an orphan. He actually helps the women in all ways possible and supports them in all walks of life”.

For Rakesh, this unit and cast members are like ‘Home away from home’ and every day spent with the veterans here is a memorable moment. “I get pampered by all on the sets, the ladies get me special dishes and I really enjoy being here”, chides the actor. Talking on the track ahead, Rakesh says that there is a love angle coming up between Sujata, played by Rupali Ganguly and him. “Anuj has always been in love with Sujata, there will be a love track coming up between them very soon”, states Rakesh.

When asked about the future of Neel in Saat Phere, Rakesh says, “Neel will get married to Nishi, and this will lead to the culmination of his track for a while”. So does it mean that Neel will never get back in Saat Phere? “You never know, I might be back after few months if the serial lasts that long”, quips the actor. On an ending note, Rakesh confirms that there will be few new characters entering the serial and the story will now revolve around them.
