This award is very precious to me - Devoleena Bhattacharjee

Devoleena Bhattacharjee won many household hearts when she stepped into the shoes of Giaa Manek as Gopi in 'Saath Nibhana Saathiya'. And now, she has gone ahead and won the esteemed Dadasaheb Phalke award. 

It has been four years since Devoleena is playing Gopi and her list of admirers goes on increasing.

We buzzed Devoleena who told us, "I am on cloud 9. I can't express my happiness. It was a huge surprise for me. At first, I got a text and thought that it may be a nomination. But later on, I got a call from them and a confirmation letter as well that I had won the award."

"This award is very very very precious to me. It is a big thing. It was beyond imagination for me that I won the award" said Devoleena.

On her plans for celebrating her victory, the actress revealed, "Everyone has got to know of my award and are expecting a party. I'll have to take time out of my schedule and throw one I guess."

We requested her to give a message to her fans. Devoleena thanked them wholeheartedly. "It has been four years of Gopi. I would like to thank one and all for their support in making Gopi and Devoleena who she is today. My Mom has been a constant support system and so have my fans. I also want to thank my show's producers and creative and directors in making Gopi so big," Devoleena signed off.
