The Roshans: Docu-Series to Unveil Bollywood's Iconic Family Legacy

The Indian film industry’s growing interest in documentaries has been reignited after the success of Angry Young Men and The Romantics. Following this trend, Netflix has announced a new documentary titled The Roshans, which will explore the journey and legacy of the Roshan family—Roshan Lal Nagrath, Rajesh Roshan, Rakesh Roshan, and Hrithik Roshan.

The streaming giant shared the poster of the docu-series on Instagram, writing, "A profound journey through legacy and love with the family that brought music, magic, and unforgettable moments to Hindi cinema. Watch The Roshans, coming soon, only on Netflix."

Expressing their enthusiasm, the Roshan family stated, “We are incredibly excited to partner with Netflix and share previously untold stories that shaped our lives. The platform allows us to reach viewers from across the globe, and it’s an honor to showcase our journey to the audience.”

Directed and co-produced by industry veteran Shashi Ranjan alongside Rakesh Roshan, the series features candid interviews with the family’s peers, friends, and colleagues, offering unique perspectives on the Roshan legacy. Speaking about his experience, Ranjan said,

The documentary promises to delve into the life and struggles of Roshan Lal Nagrath, also known as Roshan Saab, the maestro who laid the foundation of this artistic dynasty. It will also highlight the contributions of Rakesh Roshan, Rajesh Roshan, and Hrithik Roshan to Indian entertainment as filmmakers, musicians, and actors.

According to reports, the series will feature insights from Bollywood icons Shah Rukh Khan, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, and action director Sham Kaushal, adding further depth to the narrative. The release date for The Roshans is yet to be announced.
