After playing the lead role in 'Kkusum', Aashka Goradia is now set to capture the small screen audience through the character of Saniya in the soap 'Mere Apne'.
Though young, she essays any given role with perfect ease and maturity. Speaking about her role in 9X's latest family drama she says, "Saniya is a very powerful character, she is a divorcee, but she is bold enough to voice out her opinions."
Discussing about the concern of her character, she discloses that, "Yes, this is some sort of power struggle, where the girl Saniya has faced a bitter past, for no fault of hers. Now, the question asked is, why cannot the bad past be wiped off and a divorcee get a new lease of life?"
Amit Jain who plays the US returned doctor, with modern perspectives has married Saniya despite the fact that she is divorced, but retreats from telling the truth to his devout parents. When asked the reason, he relates, "Marrying a divorcee is something very big, and is not acceptable at all in a backdrop such as Benaras. This is the reason why Aditya is stopping himself from revealing the truth".
And he carries on, "Love can happen anytime with anyone, so Aditya has fallen in love with Saniya. But he can dare not come open in this".
