The infidelity track took a toll on me and I needed a short break: Aashish Mehrotra on returning to ‘Anupamaa’

Star Plus show ‘Anupamaa’ had one of the most shocking tracks recently wherein Toshu’s one-night stand was exposed. Paritosh continued to justify himself. He also went to the extent of kidnapping his own daughter Aarya. After being hit by realization, Toshu got himself admitted to a well-ness center to get rehabilitated. With this twist, the makers accommodated a short break for actor Aashish Mehrotra and now after being missing from the episodes since a few days, Ashish is back in action. 

India Forums got in touch with Aashish and asked him about his break. He said, “Well, I guess, it was a much needed break. I hadn’t taken many offs since past two and a half years and wanted some quality time with myself and my family. Apart from that, the previous track was quite a heavy one, it took a toll on me and I really required some time off to introspect and rethink into a few things and now when I'm back on the sets of ‘Anupamaa’ again, I feel very refresh and have a great positive energy”.

When asked about the infidelity track, Aashish said, “I was most unsure about doing those scenes. I wasn’t informed way before about the track and hence I wasn’t prepared for it, nor was I expecting something like that. I was informed about the track in the morning and had to perform those scenes that particular day itself. I was in a fix and had many confusing thoughts but then I had people like the master blaster producer Mr. Rajan Shahi, Creative Director of the show Ketaki and the amazing team of writers with me and I planned to believe in the conviction of the team and performed the scene accordingly. I must say, I always like the range of emotions that a character gets to play and I was so happy that I could get this opportunity to perform such hard-hitting scenes. I was skeptical as to how audiences will receive the track and to my pleasant surprise people praised my performance a lot. I feel extremely blessed to be a part of this show and have immense gratitude for the viewers to have always praised my work”.

When asked about his character graph in the upcoming episodes, Aashish said, “To be honest I really don’t know… as things happen too quick in ‘Anupama’ and the challenging part is that you just get to know in time when you are supposed to deliver... so what is Toshu going to do is something as a surprise but yes, he will surely meet his love Kinjal and try to have her and Pari back in his life. Let’s see where this journey of love virtue takes him”.
