Telugu star Chiranjeevi tests positive for coronavirus, shares official statement

The Coronavirus is spreading like a wildfire across the globe. Several celebrities in India have also fallen prey to the novel virus.

The latest celebrity to join the bandwagon is Telugu superstar Chiranjeevi, who has tested positive for coronavirus.

Actor-politician Chiranjeevi underwent the COVID-19 test before resuming shoot of his period drama Acharya. His tests came positive, however he mentioned that he is asymptomatic.

 The actor took to Twitter to share the official statement:

“Took a test for COVID before resuming ‘Acharya’ shoot as a protocol and unfortunately tested positive. I am currently asymptomatic & quarantining myself at home. Request all those who met me in the last 5 few days to also undergo covid tests. Will update you on my recovery soon.”

Speaking of Acharya, the Telugu action drama film is directed by Koratala Siva and produced by Ram Charan and Niranjan Reddy. The film stars Chiranjeevi and Kajal Aggarwal in the lead roles while Ram Charan is set to play a supporting role. Acharya is scheduled to release in the second quarter of 2021.
