"The Guru's form should be meditated upon; the feet of the Guru should be worshipped; his words are to be treated as a sacred Mantra; his Grace ensures final liberation".
Yes! It is that day of the year again when all the gurus (teachers) are made to feel special and are worshiped by their shishyaas (students). This special day is dedicated to all the Gurus who have taught us something in each phase of our life, be it the school teacher, friends, parents, a boss, a director, editor etc. It is a day to thank them and make them realize what they mean to us and how they inspire us in our lives to make us a better person each day.
A Guru is the person who is a link between an individual and the immortal. Just as the moon that shines by reflecting the light of the sun, all the disciples can dazzle like the moon by gaining them from our Guru.
Let's find out from our Telly stars about their gurus and how have they helped these stars to become what they are today –

I am inspired by many people who have been my gurus in my life. From my field it is Mr. Amitabh Bachchan who I look up to. I always wanted to become a model and acting happened very accidentally. Balraj Sahani is a very fine personality, Dev Anand is charming as always, Amitji and Shahrukh Khan too. They are very influential. Also Manoj Bajpaye is a treat to one's eye when we see him acting.
But personally my life guru is from Japan - Dr. Dai Saku Ikeda, a Buddhist philosopher. He is my role model since his life journey is very inspiring. Every bit of success in my life I dedicate it to him.

Ragini Khanna, who is my sister has inspired me a lot to get into acting. I would say that I am a director's actor because I act according to what my director says. Ravi Bhushan, Jeetu Arora and Hemant Prabhu are the directors who have helped me to become what I am today. I would heartily thank all these three directors for making a girl like me into an actor. As long as his vision is aligned, my vision is clear.

In acting, my guru is Mr. Mahesh Dattani who is a renowned English play writer and director. He taught me the nuances of acting and also Maan Sir who is the director of Na Bole Tum Na Maine Kuch Kaha Season 2, since he has really helped me to grow as an actor. I call him as Yash Chopra of the television industry. I consider late Mr. Yash Chopra too as my guru.

My guru was and will always be my mother. I am what I am because of her. She has made me a humble, strong and a very responsible person in life. I miss her a lot and I wish that in the future when I become a mother I am like. In the television industry I would like to thank Mr. JD Majethia and Rajan Shahi sir for giving me such a strong lead role in their show. They have always guided me and been very supportive.

I have always considered my parents my guru. My dad has been an inspiration to me since childhood. I am very thankful to him for all what he has done for me and will always be throughout my life and will always be in my next birth too. From the television industry according to the personality and aura wise Mr. Ronit Roy has inspired me a lot, even to become an actor since his Mr. Bajaj era.

My Gurus are B P Singh for giving me my first CID episode, even when I did not know how to deliver a dialogue. He taught me a lot without losing his patience. So also Nupur Asthana who was my director in the show Hip Hip Hurray. I am very thankful to her for giving me my first break in this industry.
TellyBuzz wishes Happy Guru Purnima to all the Teachers.
