Tara Sutaria on Insider-Outsider row: We're here to work, not talk about Families; praises Rajkummar and Ayushmann

After impressing the audience in Student of the Year 2, Tara Sutaria is onto her next big project titled Marjaavan alongside Sidharth Malhotra. Directed by Milap Zaveri, the action-romantic thriller also stars Riteish Deshmukh and Rakulpreet Singh in pivotal roles. The co-producer of the film, Bhushan Kumar described the film as “a violent, dramatic love story".

Just like her co star Sid, Tara, too is not from the industry and does not carry a bankable surname with her, and has made it to the big screen with her own talent and determination. 

During a recent interview when the actress was asked if she still feels like an outsider in the industry, she had things to say. 

"You know this concept of insider-outsider is very interesting to me. I still haven't understood it.

Being an actor is most importantly a job, we're all here to work so when someone talks about families and how they've grown up with each other, it's all fine but in the end we're here to work, not here to talk about families and friendships we've had since we were children. I do hope we can get over the concept of insider-outsider and talk about work, which is the most important."

Talking of her journey, starting from Student of the Year till now, she admits that it has been different for her. She says she is still grasping things and trying to understand how the industry works.

"Now I understand how the industry works, I need to be a little less shy and come out of my shell," says Tara.

She further continues to add that times are changing, and the audiences are loving and accepting 'outsiders'. She also goes on to praise actors like Rajkummar Rao and Ayushmann Khurrana, who are currently the talk of the town and have made it so far on their own.

"Like Rajkummar Rao and Ayushmann Khurrana, they're just giving hits after hits. People are going mad over them and I cannot wait to work with them if I get the chance to."

She says, "now is the time for 'outsiders' , 'underdogs' or the 'blacksheeps."
