A well-known name in the Television industry, Surveen Chawla has now paved her way into films. She featured in films like Hate Story 2, Welcome Back, Parched among others. She welcomed her daughter with husband Akshay Thakker on April 15, 2019, and is currently enjoying the early stages of motherhood.
However, besides the joy of her new baby, the pregnancy brought in a number of drastic changes in her life. She had gained around 18 kgs during her pregnancy, and also coped up with postpartum depression.
But pregnancy weight was no problem for the Yummy Mummy as she shed most of those extra kilos within six months, and stunned everyone with her transformation.
Sharing her weight loss secret, Surveen reveals that it was her holistic lifestyle that helped her get back in shape. The actress had a fixed regime and she chose to stick to it. She took a healthy way to lose weight and practiced yoga along with cardiovascular activities. Besides, she also preferred to have home-cooked food while she was on her weight loss journey, and did not crave the outside meals, reports Pinkvilla.
Surveen also opened up on her postpartum depression and stated that while she had heard a lot about it during pregnancy, she decided to evade it completely. She further reveals that her expressive personality proved to be a blessing for her and she was able to vent out her emotions better, which helped her stay in an emotionally sound place.
“There were days when my emotions were all over the place. But I did my best to stay centered, and share my feelings with my partner. I reminded myself every day that I was doing the best I could,” Surveen stated.
The actress concluded by saying that her husband was her pillar of strength during the pregnancy period and they shared everything with each other.
