Strings Attached, with Love...

The day that celebrates bro-sis love is once again here, to greet us all with the same fun n love! Here is Telly Buzz offering you a Raksha Bandhan Special...

It's the day of Raksha Bandhan again! While some guys happily put forward their wrists, some try to avoid all the chicks in the lane! Of course, blame it on the girls who use Rakhi as a weapon to ward off unwanted suitors. That's simply not acceptable right?

Move aside the jokes, Raksha Bandhan comes to your genuine rescue if you are a wishful someone without any blood brother or sister. We Indian chaps have way too good traditions!

Lets do some rewind. Originally, sisters tie the silk thread (Rakhi) on their brother's wrist and pray for their well being and brothers promise to take care of their sisters, but nowadays as neighbours and co-workers celebrate the festival, Rakhi has become more of symbol of peaceful co-existence, blurring all the differences of religion or language.

Here is Telly Buzz talking to few of the telly stars on the importance of Raksha Bandhan in their lives and much more...

Abigail:

How important is Raksha Bandhan for you?
Very important and also it's a very beautiful festival.

Is it a boon or a curse?
It's a boon for girls. Obviously, we get loads of gifts and cash!

Do you have a Rakhi Brother, who is it?
Yes. Abhinav Kapoor is my Rakhi brother.

Have you tied rakhi to any of your co stars? Do you follow the custom even now?
Not yet, but this year I will tie Rakhi to Gautam Gulati, the one who played Teji in Tujh Sang Preet.

Harshad Chopra:

What's Raksha Bandhan to you, a boon or a curse?
It has always been a boon, as brothers get to give gifts to their sisters and thus express their feelings of love and gratitude.

Do you have a rakhi sister, who is it?
Yes I do have one in my home town and also when I was in hostel in Pune, I used to get Rakhi tied from a Bai(janitor).

Actually I used to feel very lonely in my hostel and used to miss my sister a lot. So it just happened that one year, I asked the bai to tie the rakhi that my sister had sent me. Then I just continued doing that every year.

Have any of your co-stars tied rakhi to you? Do you follow the custom even now?
Nope. But Priya Arya and Neha Mehta are very close to me and treat me as their younger brother. They advise me a lot and are always there for me.

Sushant Singh Rajput:

What's Raksha Bandhan to you, a boon or a curse?
Obviously a boon. I have four elder sisters and I am the only guy among them so I always feel lucky.

Do you have a rakhi sister, who is it?
No I don't understand the concept of Rakhi sister. I have four sisters and so have enough responsibility on my shoulders. I don't want to take the risk of making a Rakhi sister now.

Has any of your costars tied rakhi to you? Do you follow the custom even now?
No not at all and I don't think it will ever happen in the future too (smiles).

Sparsh Khandchandani:

How important is Raksha Bandhan for you?
The feeling behind tying a Rakhi is important as it's the feeling of love between a brother and sister.

Do you have a Rakhi Brother, who is it?
No I don't have any. I tie rakhi only to my cousin brother.

Have you tied rakhi to any of your co stars? Do you follow the custom even now?
Last year I was not shooting on rakhi day. But this year definitely I will tie Rakhi to Armaan Bhaiya (Karan Singh Grover).

Puja Bose:

How important is Raksha Bandhan for you?
It is a very important festival. Brothers and sisters staying far away from each other due to work or any other reason get an excuse to meet. This is a good time to show your love and care.

Do you have a Rakhi Brother, who is it?
No, I don't have any. I tie Rakhi only to my cousins.

Have you tied rakhi to any of your co stars? Do you follow the custom even now?
No I haven't tied rakhi to any of my co-stars.

Avinash Sachdev:

What's Raksha Bandhan to you, a boon or a curse?
Obviously it's a boon. It's celebrating a very cherished relation.

Do you have a rakhi sister, who is it?
No, I don't have any rakhi sisters.

Has any of your girl costar tied rakhi to you? Do you follow the custom even now?
Yes they had approached to me but I didn't get the rakhi tied. That's because I don't believe relationships are formed so easily.

Raj Simaria:

What's Raksha Bandhan to you, a boon or a curse?
Definitely a boon despite the jeb katna (cash drain). I love Rakhi festival. It's a festival where brothers and sisters get to show off their 'sweet' relationship. We enjoy a lot.

Do you have a rakhi sister, who is it?
Nope, I don't have a rakhi sister yet.

Have any of your costars tied rakhi to you? Do you follow the custom even now?
No, none of my costars have done it so far. But this year Antara will tie Rakhi to me on the sets.
