‘Still waiting for my big break’: Saanand Verma states he wants to be the ‘next big thing’

2024 has been a significant year for Saanand Verma, one marked by notable achievements and new collaborations. The actor, best known for his portrayal of Saxena Ji in Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain and his role in Vijay 69, has worked with a diverse range of talent this year. Reflecting on his personal journey, Verma admits, “I used to believe very easily in people. So I am a very, very simple person and I easily start believing. So now I have stopped doing that. I will not trust anyone so easily now.” His words underscore the realization that trust needs to be earned, a sentiment he has come to understand through his experiences in the industry.

The actor has a clear vision for the future, stating, “In 2025, I want to be the next big thing of Bollywood. I want to be a very, very big film star.” With his sights set on a big-budget film with a powerful role, Verma is determined to break into the mainstream with a character that leaves a lasting impact. While he acknowledges the limitations that come with not being from an industry family, he doesn’t let them deter him. "The reality is that I am not, not an industry kid... I am just an ordinary person in terms of financial status," he says, emphasizing the need to stay grounded.

Despite his success in OTT platforms with series like Sacred Games, Apharan - Sabka Katega, Verma is still waiting for his big break in films. “The big break I am talking about is something that I am still awaiting," he admits, adding that he hopes for a role in a project alongside stars like Shah Rukh Khan or Akshay Kumar.

As 2025 approaches, Verma's optimism remains high, driven by hard work and determination. His journey is a testament to his belief in growth, with a focus on not becoming complacent. "An actor should never be satisfied," he concludes, "because if you are satisfied, growth will stop."
