Star Plus finalizes its female lead for its upcoming HISTORICAL BIOPIC!

Star Plus has adapted the philosophy of 'nayi soch' (new way of thinking) recently, where apart from presenting saas-bahu dramas, it has embraced and presented new content.

With Drashti Dhami starrer, 'Pardes Mein Hai Mera Dil' and 'P.O.W. - Bandi Yuddh Ke' rolling already, and Sanaya Irani starrer 'Meenu Mausi', Shakti Anand starrer 'The Kings Daughters' in the pipeline, the channel is set and ready.

Now, adding to this bandwagon is another show which certainly justifies the concept and that is a historical biopic on Maharani Ahilyabai Holkar.

This will certainly be one-of-a-kind female oriented biopics. As history suggests, the tale of Maharani Ahilyabai Holkar goes like Ahilyabai was the Holkar Queen of the Malwa kingdom which was under the Marathas. Born in Chondi village in Jamkhed, Maharashtra, Ahilyabai was crowned queen following the death of her husband, who was killed in the Kumbher battle in 1754. She was one of the first women to lead armies into a battle and trying to protect her kingdom.

And to portray this challenging role, according to a leading news daily, actress Donal Bisht has been roped in for the titular role of Ahilyabai.

Donal is best known for her roles in 'Kalash' and 'Twist Wala Love'.
