The upcoming coronation concert for King Charles III will see the participation of several famous personalities from the film and music industry. The event, scheduled for May 7, will feature Tom Cruise, The Katy Perry, Lionel Richie, and now even Bollywood actress Sonam Kapoor. According to a report, Sonam will present a spoken word performance to introduce the Commonwealth virtual choir. The event, which is being produced by BBC Studios, will be hosted by Hugh Bonneville, known for his roles in Downton Abbey and Paddington.
The coronation ceremony will take place on May 6 and the following day, the concert will be held. Buckingham Palace has released a statement announcing further details of the celebratory and community events that will take place over the coronation weekend between May 6 and May 8, 2023.
The Archbishop of Canterbury will conduct the service, which will reflect the monarch's role in the present day while being rooted in longstanding traditions and pageantry. This will be Sonam's first royal appearance, while Tom Cruise had previously attended Princess Diana's funeral in 1997.
