'Small Screen was always my aim', says Anjali Abrol

Anjali Abrol is a new find in Television, but the girl is well known as far as theatre goes. The actress who is on course to make her debut on small screen with the role of Rani in the new serial “Raja Ki Aayegi Baraat” to be aired on Star Plus, has done many Dogri plays on National level.

This simple 17year old girl from Jammu is herself quite excited with the role. Getting launched on Television was not in itself a big surprise for her. “I gave the auditions at Jammu and then got a call. I am truly excited when I got this opportunity, but I always knew I will find myself here one day. That was always my aim,” says the confident girl.

Anjali throws more light on her role as she says, “I am doing the role of Rani. She is a very simple girl who lives with her mother. She loves her mother and her little brother a lot. Finally she finds herself working in a rich family and ends up serving them like a servant of the house,” then laughingly she adds, “That’s about it and for the rest of the tory, just watch and see how things take shape.”

The actress finds the character of Rani very close to her own nature too. “Rani is a simple girl from a small place and somehow I am finding her very close to me. So I am not finding it difficult to enact this character”, expresses the new actress.

Anjali is still studying and yet to complete her schooling. “I am in eleventh standard and am still studying. I bring along my books to the sets and whenever get some free time go through them,” chips in the actress. She is thankful to her parents who gave her a lot of support, “If they had not given me the support, today I would not have been here pursuing acting, which is something I have always dreamt of.”

This new show Raja Ki Aayegi Baaraat spreads its wings on Star Plus from 21st January at 8PM IST and will be aired every Mon-Thurs. Besides Anjali, the show also has Pankaj Dheer as the main male protagonist. Anjali hopes that viewers would love the show and will appreciate the hard work all are putting into the show.
