Situation Gets Worse for New 'SNL' Member in The Row of His Racist Comments

Things couldn't have gotten worse for the newest member of Saturday Night Live! (SNL) Shane Gillis. Or maybe it could have. The comedian's racial slur has sparked outrage on social media just a few hours after his appointment for the 45th season of SNL.

What is actually getting things to go out of control is two things - one, that apart from a couple of tweets, he actually has a history of cracking racist jokes that one can find in his YouTube videos that are apparently very nasty. And two, the comedian's statement on this outrage. In a statement posted to Twitter, he said he would “apologize to anyone who was actually offended,” but more so, that he’s “a comedian who pushes boundaries,” and “sometimes that requires risks.”

Even though Gillis has managed to find some support from his fans and a few other comedians, the overall take on this saga has been negative. SNL, themselves are yet to comment anything on this but there should be a statement issued on the same soon.

Will this result in Gillis being ousted from the cast or not? Only time will tell.
