Singer KK's family arrives in Kolkata ahead of his post-mortem examination today

Everyone was stunned and grieved by the death of singer KrishnaKumar Kunnath popularly known as KK. Bollywood is mourning the passing of this superstar, and the world of music has truly lost a jewel. KK died only hours after performing live at Kolkata's Nazrul Mancha. 

On social media, videos and photos from this live event have gone viral. According to the latest rumours, the popular singer's autopsy will be performed today, and his family has arrived in Kolkata.

A few minutes ago ANI took to their Twitter handle to share pictures of KK’s wife and children arriving at Kolkata airport today. In their tweet, ANI wrote,

“West Bengal | Family of singer #KK arrives in Kolkata. The singer passed away last night after a live performance in the city. His body is kept at CMRI hospital from where it will be taken to SSKM hospital.” 

According to reports, KK passed out at the Grand Hotel in Kolkata hours after performing at the Nazrul Mancha. He was claimed to have complained of uneasiness before collapsing in his hotel room. According to a senior hospital official, KK was carried to the hospital around 10 p.m. and was found dead on arrival.

KK married his childhood sweetheart Jyothi in 1991. The late singer is now survived by his wife Jyothi, and their two children, son Nakul Krishna Kunnath and daughter Tamara Kunnath. West Bengal Sports and Youth Affairs Minister Arup Biswas told media persons that the body has been sent for post-mortem.

Reportedly, Kolkata Police has registered an unnatural death case over KK’s death. According to police sources, his face and head bore injuries. The police will also talk to the hotel staff and the event organisers.
