Gurpanth Maan, the younger brother of the celebrated Punjabi singer and actor Gurdas Maan, has passed away at the age of 68, as reported by multiple media outlets. Gurpanth reportedly passed away earlier today at a private hospital in Mohali following a brief illness.

News18 reported that advocate Gurmeet Mann, a cousin of Gurpanth Maan, shared that Gurpanth's health had initially improved, leading to his discharge from the hospital. However, his condition unexpectedly deteriorated, resulting in his passing shortly thereafter.

Gurpanth Maan, a resident of Gidderbaha, Punjab, was a farmer and commission agent. He had been undergoing treatment for almost two months at a multispecialty hospital in Mohali. He leaves behind his wife, son, and daughter, who reside overseas.

The cremation for Gurpanth Maan is planned for June 10 in Chandigarh. He was the middle sibling, positioned between Gurdas Maan and their sister.

Gurdas Maan has yet to release an official statement and has been largely absent from social media in recent weeks. His last post expressed his sorrow over the tragic events in Pahalgam. He shared a heartfelt message in Punjabi, writing, “O God, may separations never fall upon me, please listen to my prayers… Since the day I witnessed and heard about the incident at Pahalgam, I have been silent. My heart is sad."

Gurdas Maan, a prominent figure in Punjabi music, gained recognition in 1980 with his hit song "Dil Da Mamla Hai." His soulful melodies and poetic lyrics have resonated with fans globally. Albums such as "Apna Punjab," "Boot Polishan," and "Heer" have cemented his status as a beloved artist.

In addition to his musical contributions, Gurdas Maan has also excelled as an actor. He has starred in notable films like "Waris," "Shaheed-e-Mohabbat Boota Singh," and "Des Hoyaa Pardes," earning acclaim for his impactful performances.
