Popular singer Arjun Kanungo is back again with a new love song ‘Fursat Hai Aaj Bhi’ that is sure to pull on some heartstrings. The singer has collaborated with actress Sonal Chouhan yet again after the hit 2016 song Fursat and their scintillating chemistry is winning millions of hearts. The song, completely shot at home amid the lockdown, was released on June 25, 2020, and is already trending on Youtube and other platforms.

Arjun gained popularity as a playback singer for Bollywood movies like Go Goa Gone and Pizza. His debut single Baaki Baatein Peene Baad was a huge hit and topped the charts in no time. His other popular work includes Fursat, Aaya Na Tu, Woh Baarishein, among others.

We got in touch with Arjun for an exclusive chat where he talked about his new song ‘Fursat Hai Aaj Bhi’, Sonu Nigam’s video on Music Mafia, his own experiences and more.

A few days ago, singer Sonu Nigam took to social media to share a video calling out the ‘Music Mafia’ in the industry and discussed the struggles of young singers in the industry.

When asked about his take on Sonu Nigam’s video, Arjun said:

“It is tough for new singers and knowing someone from the industry obviously helps. I knew no one in the industry and I had to work really hard to be noticed. It took me more than 10 years as I started working when I was 17 years old and now I am going to turn 30. It took me 13 years and now finally my work is getting recognised in the last few years.”

“Everybody does not come from a supportive family, so many people do not have a roof over their head in Bombay so it’s difficult” he adds.

He also adds that the situation is getting better with the evolution of platforms like Youtube, TikTok and reality shows for budding singers. “So today, you can start a career from your living room,” says the singer.

Further, Arjun continues:

“It’s not right to say that there’s only nepotism in Bollywood or the music industry. It’s a very big industry but the people who did not make it will have bitter experiences. I respect Sonu Ji a lot and I agree with him on a lot of things. But I also believe that things are changing and becoming more democratic.”

“Yes, there are powerful people who control everything, there is a power dynamic and every industry has that. It’s wrong to say that only Bollywood has a ‘mafia’, it’s across the globe.”

Meanwhile, Arjun is looking forward to his journey in the world of acting. Arjun will be seen in Salman Khan’s action film ‘Radhe’ in a pivotal role, which was slated to release on 22 May 2020 but stands postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
