India pays tribute to the brave Kargil war hero, late Captain Vikram Batra, on the 24th anniversary of his sacrifice. Captain Batra made the ultimate sacrifice on July 7, 1999, while bravely battling Pakistani forces during the Kargil War. Hailing from Ghuggar village near Palampur in Himachal Pradesh, his indomitable spirit, courage, and leadership were brought to light through Vishnuvardhan's film "Shershaah." Starring Sidharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani, the film was named after Captain Vikram Batra's army call sign, embodying his commitment to securing victory for the Indian armed forces. He was posthumously awarded the prestigious Param Vir Chakra, the highest gallantry award.
On this solemn occasion, Sidharth Malhotra, who portrayed Captain Vikram Batra in "Shershaah," took to his social media to honor the fallen soldier. Sharing a post highlighting Captain Batra's heroic mission to capture the strategically important Pt.5140, Sidharth expressed his admiration and respect with the caption, "big love and respect."
Dharma Productions also paid tribute to Captain Vikram Batra through their official social media platforms. Their heartfelt caption, "Vardi ki shaan se badi koi aur shaan nahi hoti" (No honor surpasses the glory of the uniform), commemorated the valiant hero, Captain Vikram Batra (PVC).

The film "Shershaah," which made its debut on Amazon Prime Video on August 12, before Independence Day, has been widely acclaimed for its authenticity and remarkable performances. Directed by Vishnu Vardhan and featuring Kiara Advani as Dimple Cheema, the film received praise for its depiction of the Kargil conflict.
Interestingly, it was during the making of "Shershaah" that the love story between Sidharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani began to bloom, ultimately leading to their lifelong union. Furthermore, Sidharth Malhotra has an exciting lineup of projects ahead. He will be seen in the film "Yodha," alongside Disha Patani and Raashii Khanna in significant roles. Additionally, he is set to star in an upcoming cop series helmed by renowned director Rohit Shetty.
