Shiny Doshi announced her engagement to beau Lavesh Khairajani on June 22, 2021, as the two completed 3 years of knowing each other. The actress also shared a video on her social media allowing fans to have a look at the dreamy proposal that it was. And now that they've taken that step, the wedding only seems to be a little closer.
India Forums got in touch with Shiny about what prompted them to announce the engagement, how overwhelming is it, and more.
Throwing light on the turn of events, Shiny says, ''The engagement happened on the 4th of January, 2020, and it has been more than a year. We wanted to plan the wedding in 2020 only, but we were in Vietnam, and that's where the proposal happened, when we got back to India, there was a lockdown in March and then we had to cancel everything, as we could not plan anything and my family was also in Ahmedabad. We were then thinking about how to work things out, then I signed Pandya Store around October-November, I got busy and we went outdoor as well, so of course, now, marriage would happen this year for sure. We are still figuring out the dates because when you are doing a daily soap and playing the lead, adjusting holidays is difficult, and my priority is the show right now. We've been trying to figure out the dates, I hope this year for sure, we'll sign it.''
As to what prompted them to finally make it Instagram official, she adds, ''Lavesh and I were just sitting and we completed 3 years on June 22, because that's the first day when we met, so I thought this is the best time to announce that we are engaged. Our close friends and family knew about it, but the social world, it was not out there. Both of us are private people, there are a lot of things that you do in life which you don't want to go on social media, so we both had decided when the right time comes, we will do it.''
Now that wedding seems to be the next big step, one that they want to happen, soon, we also asked her what kind of a wedding has she always wanted. To that, she adds, ''To be honest, looking at the scenario outside, not too many people are going to make it for my wedding, because of COVID, there are a lot of restrictions and I don't want anyone to be put in a situation. It is going to be a close-knit family and friends wedding, we are planning to throw a bigger party around the year-end most probably because then we would know the situation. Otherwise, I have always wanted a big-fat destination wedding.''
On the work front, Shiny has been winning hearts as Dhara on Pandya Store, and the show has also been doing well with the fans.
