In a sad turn of events, actor Sharman Joshi’s father Arvind Joshi passed away in Mumbai. Arvind was a renowned Gujarati actor, director and a popular name in the theatre industry. He breathed his last on January 29, 2021, at Nanavati Hospital in Mumbai.
Arvind Joshi is survived by his son Sharman Joshi and daughter Manasi Roy.
Speaking to The Indian Express, Sarita Joshi, Arvind’s sister-in-law said that the actor passed away due to age-related health issues. She said, “He passed away peacefully in his sleep.” The cremation will happen at Mumbai’s Vile Parle Crematorium on the afternoon of January 29.
Sharman Joshi was spotted attending his father’s funeral in Mumbai. He was accompanied by his family members and television actor Rohit Roy, as they entered the funeral site. Arvind Joshi’s daughter Manasi is married to Rohit Roy.
Lok Sabha MP and actor Paresh Rawal mourned the loss of the late actor and sent his condolences to Sharman Joshi and family. His tweet read as, "Irreparable loss to Indian theatre; with grief we say goodbye to the noted actor Shri Arvind Joshi. A stalwart, a versatile actor, an accomplished thespian, are the words that come to mind when I think of his performances. My condolences to @TheShermanJoshi & family.AUM SHANTI"
Speaking of Arvind Joshi, he played the role of Thakur Baldev Singh’s elder son in the 1975 blockbuster film Sholay and was also a part of films like Apmaan Ki Aag and Ittefaq.
