Shankar Mahadevan and Hariharan Decline Nora Fatehi, Tamannaah Bhatia as Concert Guest Performers

Renowned singers Anup Jalota, Shankar Mahadevan, and Hariharan are set to perform in a series of multi-city concerts. However, they recently turned down a suggestion to include Bollywood stars Nora Fatehi and Tamannaah Bhatia as guest performers. This decision was made during discussions with the event organiser, Manish Harishankar of MH Films.

Manish had proposed the idea of inviting Nora and Tamannaah to add Bollywood glamour to the concert series Triveni. However, the singers rejected the idea, explaining that the event’s focus is purely on the beauty and heritage of Indian music. They believed including actors might overshadow the concert’s musical essence.

A source familiar with the matter shared, “When Manish Harishankar suggested bringing Nora Fatehi and Tamannaah Bhatia as special guests, Shankar, Hariharan, and Anup firmly opposed it. They stressed that Triveni aims to highlight the richness of Indian classical and contemporary music. Bollywood actors would shift the attention away from this vision."

The singers further clarified their stance, saying that any guest performer should be a fellow musician. “If there is to be a guest appearance, it must be a singer who complements the event’s spirit,” added the source. This move ensures the spotlight stays on music and not on non-musical elements.

On the professional front, Tamannaah Bhatia is currently in the spotlight for her role in Sikandar Ka Muqaddar, directed by Neeraj Pandey. The action thriller also stars Avinash Tiwary, Jimmy Shergill, and Divya Dutta.

Meanwhile, Nora Fatehi appeared in Kunal Kemmu’s comedy Madgaon Express and debuted in Telugu cinema with Matka, featuring Varun Tej. She is also working on another upcoming project, Dancing Dad.
