Sham Kaushal has been a top action coordinator for decades and is still in demand for stunts and actions in movies and on television. His son Vicky Kaushal's wedding to Katrina Kaif has gotten a lot of attention recently, but the senior cinema technician prefers to keep his personal life private.
Sham Kaushal talked to ETimes about his long tenure as an action director, his friendship with Ajay Devgn and his father Veeru Devgn, and some personal details about his son Vicky. Sham noted that he had worked with Ajay Devgn when he began his career as a stuntman in the film industry.
He used to work with Veeru Devgn ji, his father. He believes Ajay began working with Veeru ji while he was in the fourth or fifth grade. At the time, they were staying in Santacruz and he had no prior experience with stunt work. Sham was only working as an assistant with him at the time. Sham later collaborated with Ajay in Dhanwaan as an action director (1993). They had a good relationship. Adding on, he said,
"Kuchh log ek doosre se milte kam hain lekin dil se jude hote hain. Ek doosre ko Punjabi jhappi daal de toh wohi apnapan lagta hai and Ajay is such a warm person like his father."
When asked about his views on Vicky's action skills, Sham said,
"I like the emotion he puts into his action. If I don’t have that emotion, that anger within, the raising of the hand will look mechanical".
On the professional front, Vicky Kaushal has a bunch of projects in his kitty. He recently completed the filming of Laxman Utekar's untitled project.
