In a cinematic whirlwind that has left Bollywood aficionados exhilarated, Shah Rukh Khan has once again proven his prowess at the box office. His latest release, 'Jawan,' has not just beaten records; it has shattered them. With an astounding opening day collection of approximately Rs 75 crore, 'Jawan' has rewritten the history books, surpassing even the benchmark set by Khan's previous film, 'Pathaan.'

Industry tracker Sacnilk reported that 'Jawan' raked in an estimated Rs 65 crore from its Hindi version alone, with an additional Rs 10 crore coming from the dubbed Tamil and Telugu versions. This achievement not only places 'Jawan' as the highest-grossing Hindi film on its opening day but also marks the first time a Hindi film has breached the Rs 60 crore mark on its debut.

The fortuitous timing of 'Jawan's release, coinciding with Janamashtmi, undoubtedly contributed to the stellar collections. And as the weekend unfolds, experts predict that the film's earnings will skyrocket even further.

Earlier this year, 'Pathaan' made headlines by amassing Rs 57 crore on its opening day. However, it truly hit its stride on the second day, hauling in a remarkable Rs 70 crore. Eventually, 'Pathaan' concluded its theatrical run with a monumental Rs 543 crore, setting an imposing record. But with 'Jawan' making waves, this record may soon find itself in jeopardy, particularly with 'Gadar 2' lurking close at around Rs 510 crore.

Sacnilk's tracking data for 'Jawan' reveals that the film garnered an opening day occupancy rate of 58% across India, with night shows boasting an impressive 69% occupancy and morning screenings at 54%. These figures pertain primarily to the Hindi version, which is also drawing audiences in South Indian states.

'Jawan' represents Shah Rukh Khan's inaugural pan-India release, a production that has seen the collaborative efforts of acclaimed director Atlee.

Aside from Shah Rukh Khan's charismatic lead role, 'Jawan' features Vijay Sethupathi as the formidable arms dealer Kalee, Nayanthara as the upright cop Narmada, and Deepika Padukone in an extended cameo. The film further highlights a league of combat-trained women, portrayed by Priyamani, Sanya Malhotra, Girija Oak, Sanjeeta Bhattacharya, Lehar Khan, and Aaliyah Qureshi, adding depth and dynamism to this cinematic extravaganza.

'Jawan' has unquestionably emerged as a blockbuster, reaffirming Shah Rukh Khan's indomitable presence as the "King of Bollywood".
