Sony SAB is set to introduce a new chapter in its primetime lineup with Ufff Yeh Love Hai Mushkil, a romantic family drama that brings together contrasting personalities under one roof. The show will premiere on 9th June and air from Monday to Saturday at 8 PM.
At the centre of this narrative are Yug Sinha and Kairi Sharma, portrayed by Shabbir Ahluwalia and Ashi Singh. Yug is a reputed lawyer who approaches life through reason and restraint, while Kairi is someone who dreams with her eyes open, led by heart and hope. Their paths cross unexpectedly, and what follows is a story laced with tension, humour, and emotional friction.
Shabir Ahluwalia steps into unfamiliar terrain with Yug, a character unlike his previous ones. “What intrigued me about Yug is the subtlety with which he feels things but refuses to show it,” he shared. Yug lives behind walls he’s built to avoid vulnerability, particularly when it comes to love.
Ashi Singh describes Kairi as someone who lives freely and believes in love’s power. “She’s the kind of person who walks into a room and lights it up,” said Ashi. While Kairi’s optimism contrasts sharply with Yug’s guarded nature, it’s this very tension that defines the core of the show.
Set against a familial backdrop, Ufff... Yeh Love Hai Mushkil also explores sibling bonds and generational perspectives. The show aims to portray love stories that aren’t perfect but reflect real-life complexities.
Speaking about the concept, creator Sonali Jaffer said the show avoids conventional romantic clichés. “It mirrors the kind of relationships many people experience today,” she explained, pointing to the friction and emotional depth between Yug and Kairi.
Nimisha Pandey, Head of Programming at Sony SAB, noted the channel’s ongoing effort to redefine family entertainment. “This show is a rare combination of fun, romance and family drama,” she said.
With its modern perspective on love and relationships, Ufff... Yeh Love Hai Mushkil offers a layered story that navigates differences rather than escaping them — an attempt to tell love stories that feel real, with all their flaws and contradictions.
