Sony SAB’s upcoming romantic family drama Ufff… Yeh Love Hai Mushkil is already attracting attention for its unique storyline and engaging characters. Leading the show is Shabir Ahluwalia, who returns to television in a completely new role. He plays Yug, a sharp and emotionally distant lawyer caught between the complexities of love and family life.
To step into Yug’s character, Shabir went through a notable physical transformation. Over the span of three months, he lost around 14 kilos not through crash diets or strict regimens, but by embracing a consistent and enjoyable routine. His approach focused on long-term habits, not quick fixes.
“I didn’t go for extreme diets,” Shabir shared. “I cut down on food in a balanced way and made sure my workouts were something I actually looked forward to.” His fitness plan included sports like football, cricket, and tennis, along with weight training and yoga. This combination helped him stay active and engaged, making the process feel less like a chore and more like a lifestyle shift.

Another key part of his routine was improving his sleep. In an industry known for erratic schedules, he made rest a priority. “Fixing my sleep schedule made a big difference,” he said. “I had a clear picture of what Yug should be—disciplined, emotionally guarded, someone who doesn’t easily reveal what he feels. I wanted that to be reflected not just in how I acted, but also in how I looked.”
For Shabir, the transformation went beyond just physical appearance. It was about aligning with Yug’s personality. By taking a holistic approach—focusing on both mind and body—he aimed to fully inhabit the role and bring depth to the character.
The promos hint at a layered performance, with Shabir’s restrained intensity as Yug contrasting Ashi Singh’s fiery portrayal of Kairi. Together, they bring a mix of conflict and chemistry to the screen. Ufff… Yeh Love Hai Mushkil promises to offer more than just a love story—it explores the emotional push and pull that comes with relationships, responsibility, and self-discovery.
