Actress Sejal Jaiswal, who was last seen in Krishna Mohini as Isha Mehta, has now joined the upcoming love drama, Kabhi Neem Neem Kabhi Shehed Shehed, a Hindi remake of the Bengali show Kothha. The show will star Abrar Qazi and Afia Tayebali in lead roles. The show will air its first episode on 21st April.
She said, "I chose this project after turning down a few others because I truly loved the story! It’s unique and refreshing. I’m playing the parallel lead of the show. My character Naina Somani embarks on a journey that every young woman will connect with. It’s a heartwarming family show that beautifully explores the bond between the younger and older generations. That’s all I can share for now, but trust me, it will be a delight to watch."
She continued, "The industry is evolving quickly, with much content now being shot in vertical format, and productions are experimenting with new approaches. However, nothing compares to the impact of TV, and this show will definitely be a treat for viewers."
On professional front, Sejal has been part of TV shows like Yeh Dil Mange More, Palkon Ki Chhaon Mein and Dating in the Dark. She also featured in in the movie Dhaakad. Apart from being a successful actress she is also a physiotherapist.
In a previous interview she shared, "My journey started in an unexpected way. From being a physiotherapist to an actor. I started my showbiz journey when I was a student. I got into modelling at 19. I won a state beauty pageant and felt I was on the right track. Along the way, I discovered my passion for acting too. Despite the challenges of balancing modelling with my physiotherapy studies, I took a bold step and participated in a reality show, Dating in the Dark, during my final year and that was my first time on television in 2018."
Sejal may have chosen showbiz as a career option over the medical field, but whatever she learnt comes handy, she says. She says, "While I’m not actively practising, I often end up treating people on the set. It's interesting that once they learn I'm a physiotherapist, everyone approaches me with some sort of pain or injury. And I genuinely feel happy helping them as it keeps my skills as a physiotherapist alive."
