Ajai Sinha and Sangeeta Sinha's Ananda Telefilms gave Sahara One one of its popular serials in Ghar Ek Sapnaa. With the show coming to an end, the production house is coming up with a brand new family drama on Sahara One, titled 'Agnisakshi'.
"Auditions are going on for the main leads of the show. However, the buzz is that popular actress Sanjeeda Sheikh has been approached to play the main lead", informs our source.
However, when we called Producer Ajai Sinha, he said, "Talks are surely on for a show on Sahara One. But nothing is finalized as of now. We are auditioning many actors, and the news of Sanjeeda is not true".
We contacted Mushtaq Shiekh, Creative Director, Sahara One who informed us that, "Yes it's true; we are doing a show with Ajai Sinha and its tentatively titled, 'Agnisakshi'. However, its too early for us to disclose any further details about the show, but yes you can expect the usual entertainment value that all shows in Sahara can proudly speak about. And with the legacy that Ajai Sinha has with his shows you know that we will not let our viewers down".
When asked about the concept of the show being based on two brothers having different view points, amidst which blossoms a love story, Mushtaq Shiekh says, "This is not true. Actually what amazes me is the sheer fiction that circulates about shows before they are actually launched. All I can say is that whatever you have stated in the question is really far from the truth. The truth of the matter is that we are still on the story board, lots of work is still pending. Once the dish is complete..can I tell you whats really being cooked. Till then I presume one has to just make do with the stories that other cook up... ".
On the buzz that is making rounds of Sanjeeda Sheikh being part of the project, Mushtaq tells us, "As I said earlier, we are not really ready with the complete project and script. We are in talks with various actresses for the very same. But let me clear the slate and say nobody has been finalized as yet".
On the probable faces that the production house and channel are looking forward to cast, The Creative Director of the channel states, "Nowadays Television is all about new faces. Faces that are endearing and enchanting at the same time. We are looking for a face that has the magic of keeping you rivetted without reaching for the remote. Both the leads can be the ordinary plain janes and john variety-but they should have the aura that will force you to take notice of them. Basically I am looking for the beauty that is very ordinary. If that's a tall order than so be it".
Lastly, he informs us that the show is expected to go on floors after the Shradh period is over. "We will be on floors on 28th September, exactly", concludes Mushtaq Shiekh.
We tried contacting Sanjeeda, and even left her a text message, but we did not get a revert.
