Satyarthi to appear as guest on 'Crime Patrol Satark'

Nobel laureate Kailash Satyarthi will appear on popular reality-based crime show Crime Patrol as a guest on the special episodes on child labor and bride trafficking, and not as a co-host, Sony TV has clarified.

Nobel laureate Kailash Satyarthi will appear on popular reality-based crime show Crime Patrol as a guest on the special episodes on child labor and bride trafficking, and not as a co-host, Sony Entertainment Television has clarified.

The docu-drama series, which aims at crime prevention by recreating a dramatized version of real life cases, will narrate two stories, which are taken from Satyarthi's organization -- Bachpan Bachao Andolan.

Sony Entertainment Television, on which the show is aired, issued a statement to dismiss reports about Satyarthi co-hosting the show with Anoop Soni.

"Sony Entertainment Television would like to clarify and bring to your kind attention that Kailash Satyarthi, founder of Bachpan Bachao Andolan, is only appearing as a guest on Crime Patrol."

"Satyarthi co-hosting the show with Anoop Soni is factually erroneous and misleading to our viewers. We wish to reiterate the fact that Satyarthi's association with the show is only restricted to providing his perspective on the issue of child trafficking," read the statement.

The episodes will be aired on Jan 23, 24, and 25 as Republic Day special episodes.
