Sargun Mehta recalls falling victim to a FRAUD CASE and LOSING LAKHS days before Udaariyaan aired

Numerous fraud cases and scams occur within the industry. Recently, producer and actor couple Sargun Mehta and Ravi Dubey opened up about being victims of a big scam just 15 days before the debut of their show Udaariyaan. In an interview with Pinkvilla, the couple discussed their motivation for becoming producers, their struggles in the early days, and much more. They disclosed that they lost an astonishing Rs 70 lakhs while establishing their production house.

Reflecting on their early days, Sargun Mehta shares that she and Ravi Dubey wrote the serial without any prior experience, although Ravi gives all the credit to her. When discussing the fraud incident, the actress mentions, “Udaariyaan ke waqt we emptied our accounts. And humara jab set baan raha tha, kisine fraud kiya 70 lakhs. I remember mein set se bahar nikli and Ravi was at shoot for Matsya Kaand.”

Sargun mentions that she cried in the car, questioning whether they had made a mistake or if becoming producers was too much responsibility for them. In contrast, her husband remained calm and supportive throughout the ordeal. She adds, “Ravi was being calm and said, ‘Gayi na? Nazar utar gayii, aa jayega kaam karo. Dobara kama lenge.’ Those 4-5 months was a nightmare.”

For those who may not know, Udaariyaan featured Priyanka Chahar Choudhary, Ankit Gupta, Abhishek Kumar, and Isha Malviya, among others.

Sargun and Ravi recently launched several shows under their banner, Dreamiyata Dramaa. These include Tujhse Haii Ashiqui, Lovely Lolla, Rafuu, and Terre Ho Jaayein Hum. Tujhse Haii Ashiqui features Abhishek Kumar and Mahir Pandhi in the lead roles, while Priyanka Chahar Choudhary and Ankit Gupta are set to star together in Terre Ho Jaayein Hum. Additionally, Gauahar Khan and Isha Malviya will take on leading roles in Lovely Lolla.

For Rafuu, Ayesha Khan, known from Bigg Boss 17, has been cast as the female lead, and she will be sharing the screen with Karan V Grover, a well-known figure in television.
