Sangeeta Odwani, currently portraying the character of Goddess Saraswati in the mythological series "Karmadhikari Shanidev," is set to expand her repertoire by taking on the role of the demoness Shurpanakha in the upcoming show "Srimad Ramayan."

In a  conversation with one of the leading portals, Sangeeta expresses her enthusiasm for being part of two shows simultaneously and highlights her approach to managing the dual commitments, mentioning the proximity of the sets as a factor.

Expressing her enthusiasm for simultaneously participating in two shows, Sangeeta shares that in 'Srimad Ramayan,' she will be portraying the character of demoness Shurpanakha, the sister of the Lanka king, Ravan. Shurpanakha, the daughter of the sage Vishrava and the rakshasi Kaikeshi, plays a concise but significant role in the original epic. The makers are committed to delving deeper into the character, providing the audience with a more comprehensive understanding. The focal point will be her beautiful bond with her brothers.

Elaborating on the role, Sangeeta expresses that the common understanding of Shurpanakha is often confined to her encounter with Ram of Ayodhya. However, this show pledges to reveal additional layers of her character, and she is grateful for the opportunity to portray this role.

Renowned for her performances in shows like "Shubh Mangal Mein Dangal" and web series including "The Big Bull" and "Vintage Boys," the actress communicates her joy in managing two distinct roles – that of a goddess and a demoness. She asserts, "To play both a goddess and a demoness is indeed a rare opportunity. She is relishing this challenge as an actor."

When inquired about how she handles shooting for both shows concurrently, Sangeeta clarifies that they synchronise her shooting schedules because both shows are under the same production. If filming for one show takes place on a specific day, the subsequent day might be allocated to the other. Furthermore, the sets' close proximity has contributed to the seamless management of the dual commitments thus far.
