Sanam Johar on Vaibhavi’s exit and Bhavika Sharma's entry: 'This was always the plan'

Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin currently stars Param Singh, Vaibhavi Hankare, and Sanam Johar in the roles of Neil, Tejaswini, and Ruturaj. Despite a promising cast and plot, the show's TRPs had recently taken a dip, prompting the makers to explore different story angles to regain audience interest. Amid these efforts, it was revealed that Vaibhavi Hankare would be exiting the show, and her character Tejaswini would be written off through a death sequence. Following this, reports confirmed that Bhavika Sharma would be returning to the show, reprising her role as Savi.

Glimpses of Bhavika's new look have already been released by the makers, creating a buzz among viewers. In an exclusive conversation with India Forums, Sanam Johar opened up about the major cast change. He shared, "Apparently, this was always the plan. The story was meant to take this turn eventually. That's what the makers told us. I will definitely miss working with Vaibhavi, who played Tejaswini, but we all have to follow what's written. At the end of the day, the show belongs to the makers first, then to us as actors."

Sanam further added, " Bhavika Sharma's entry, if it's planned like this, it had to happen. So, it is happening. If this is the direction the story was meant to go, then it had to happen. We're hoping her re-entry will help boost the TRPs. Right now, we've just shot the promo featuring her comeback, but we haven't received the full screenplay or detailed story yet. So, like the audience, we're also waiting to see what unfolds next."

Speaking about his own character's arc, Sanam shared, "As for Ruturaj, we'll find out more as the story progresses. I'm excited and looking forward to what's coming."

The team also released a behind-the-scenes teaser video showing a dramatic car accident, which sets the stage for Bhavika Sharma's re-entry. She is seen making a strong comeback as an IPS officer investigating the incident. With her arrival, the makers aim to revive the show's momentum and recapture the audience's attention.
