"Samrat is not me and it's a challenge for me to play this character" : Mohit Malik

The very good looking and handsome actor Mohit Malik who was recently seen playing Rehan in Channel V's popular show Suvreen Guggal - Topper of the Year, will be seen in a new show in a completely different character. Mohit will be seen playing the character of Samrat in Spellbound's upcoming show Doli Armaano Ki on Zee TV.

TellyBuzz spoke to Mohit to know more about his new show and his character.

Talking about his character, Mohit says, "I am playing the character of Samrat Rathore who is a Rajput from Jhansi. He is a well educated guy and he is of my age. Situations lead him to take up the family business. Being the youngest child in the family, he has taken the responsibility of his family on his shoulders. It's a very strong and a powerful role. It's a very realistic and a grey character. Situations have made him become like the way he is today. He is moody and he wants a girl who will come in his family and make them happy by taking care of everyone. Whatever he does, does for his family. His thinking is very different. Samrat is a workaholic and in that way, I am related to him."   

Mohit feels that it's a very challenging role which he has taken up to play as he is not relatable to Samrat. He said, "I was playing the character of a charming guy in Suvreen Guggal but this character is going to spoil my image (laughs). It's a completely different character which I am playing now because it's not me. I am working hard for this character. I know people in real life who resemble this character. So, I am observing them closely and trying to get into the skin of the character."

When asked Mohit about the reason to take up the character, he replied, "The character is a very challenging character which I have never done before. Somehow the character suits me. I want people to know me by doing this character whether I can portray it perfectly it or not."
