Several female-centric films and roles are set for release putting the emphasis on female narratives and plotlines in today’s world. A number of forthcoming shows and movies are featuring strong female protagonists that are sure to impress audiences. From Madhuri Dixit's comeback with The Fame Game on Netflix to Masaba Masaba S2, the audience is in for a multi-layered experience.
This year, in celebration of International Women’s Day, Netflix also revealed the first looks of its fan favorite films and series due to release later this year. Witness the first looks of some of the most awaited characters below!

Kathal
A woman-led dramedy, set in a small town, revolves around a local politician whose prized jackfruits (Kathals) go missing and a young police officer, played by Sanya Malhotra, who is adamant to solve this bizarre case to prove herself. Kathal is the directorial debut of Yashowardhan Mishra, who has also written the film along with the veteran, award winning writer Ashok Mishra.
Thar
Inspired by Western Noir genres, Thar is set in the eighties and essays the story of Siddharth - played by Harsh Varrdhan Kapoor. Shifting to Pushkar for a job, Siddharth embarks on a journey to avenge his past. Will he succeed or does Pushkar have something else to offer him?
Mai
Following a personal tragedy, Sheel, a docile, 47yearold wife-and-mother, finds herself accidentally entangled in a web of white-collar crime and dirty politics pushing her into a rabbit hole of violence that forever changes her and the world she inhabits.
Qala
Qala is a story about a daughter who craves her mother’s love.
Masaba Masaba S2
It’s a tough world, but Masaba and Neena Gupta are tougher. The mess is over, and this time the plan is world domination. Masaba goes in front of the cameras, and Neenaji decides to go behind them.
