Saira Banu reveals the deep connection that Dilip Kumar and Amitabh Bachchan shared

In Hindi cinema, there are certain names that stand as pillars, defining the industry's very essence. Among these luminaries, two legendary figures shine especially bright – Dilip Kumar and Amitabh Bachchan. Beyond their individual contributions to the world of cinema, what might surprise many is the deep bond they shared.

Recently, Saira Banu took to social media to share a glimpse into the extraordinary rapport her husband shared with Amitabh Bachchan. The images she posted paint a vivid picture of their camaraderie, shedding light on the depth of their relationship.

According to Saira Banu, the introduction between these two cinematic giants was orchestrated by veteran actor Om Prakash. In the early stages. It was Om Prakash, who first brought Amitabh Bachchan to Dilip Kumar's attention. As Saira fondly recalls, "Sahib got to hear of Amitabh Bachchan from his friend, actor Om Prakash Ji – 'Oh! Yousuf Jaan, I am so amazed to find a young man, an actor for the first time in my career who has the same intense, piercing look in his eyes as YOU!'" This marked the inception of a mutual admiration that would come to define their relationship.

She also recounts a particular time when the prolific writer-duo Salim-Javed encouraged Amitabh Bachchan to visit Dilip Kumar's residence, even without a prior appointment. Amitabh, known for his respect towards elders, was initially hesitant, but heeding the duo's advice, he paid an unannounced visit to Dilip Kumar's home. 

Much to his surprise, he was warmly received. This unexpected encounter turned into an engaging conversation that lasted well into the wee hours of the morning. Saira Banu recollects how the lights were switched on, and the trio spent hours exchanging stories and anecdotes until 4:00 am. This incident is a testament to the genuine care and warmth that Dilip Kumar exuded.

Amitabh Bachchan once expressed, "The history of Indian Cinema shall be 'before Dilip Sahib' and 'after Dilip Sahib' because of his impeccable presence." Dilip Kumar was not only a towering figure on-screen but also an inspiration that left an indelible mark on the cinematic landscape. 

For the unversed Bachchan and Dilip Kumar had shared screen space together in 'Shakti'.
