Roshni Walia drops guard at Son Of Sardaar 2 trailer event: 'This wasn’t easy'

Roshni Walia is making her big-screen debut in Son of Sardaar 2, starring Ajay Devgn and Mrunal Thakur. But it wasn’t just a trailer launch for her — it was a moment years in the making.

At the Mumbai event, the 23-year-old actor—best known for her TV role as Ajabde in Bharat Ka Veer Putra – Maharana Pratap—took the mic, and emotions quickly took over. “This is a comedy film,” she said, trying to smile through tears, “but I feel like crying because this means so much to me… Thank you so much.” Then came the quip that made the crowd smile: “Mera makeup kharab ho jayega!”

Roshni spoke about her roots in Allahabad and how surreal it felt to stand next to Ajay Devgn and Mrunal Thakur. “Itni badi film hai aur sabke saath kaam karne ka mauka mila hai, bohot accha lag raha hai. Ek chhote sheher (Allahabad) se aakar in sab ke saath khadi hoon aur baithi hoon, it’s so surreal. I’m so overwhelmed… Sir (Ajay Devgn), main bol nahi paungi.”She also shared what her co-stars have come to mean to her. “I got a sister (Mrunal Thakur), and I got someone I genuinely consider a father figure,” she said, referring to Ajay. “And an entire family. I’m so happy that yeh meri pehli movie hai inn sab ke saath.”

Son of Sardaar 2, directed by Vijay Kumar Arora, is a spiritual follow-up to the 2012 comedy hit. Ajay returns as Jaswinder “Jassi” Singh Randhawa, and this time, the cast includes Mrunal Thakur, Sanjay Mishra, Ravi Kishan, and debutant Roshni Walia.

Slated for release on July 25, 2025, the film aims to balance comedy with emotional beats and family dynamics. Roshni’s candid, teary-eyed moment was a reminder that for many young actors, a debut isn’t just a launch — it’s years of quiet work, waiting, and finally, arrival.
