Riya Deepsi to Join Karan Kundra in ALT Balaji’s It Happened In Calcutta

ALT Balaji has become one of the fastest-growing digital platforms with hard-hitting and intriguing original contents like The Test Case, Mission Over Mars, The Verdict among several others. Founder of Balaji Telefilms and its digital arm, ALT Balaji, Producer Ekta Kapoor recently announced a romantic period drama starring Karan Kundrra and newcomer Naghma Rizwan.

Now, the latest reports suggest that the makers have roped in actress Riya Deepsi for an interesting part in the upcoming series. Riya is known for her roles in shows like Razia Sultan and Mahabharata.

The story, set in the year 1960s in the ‘City of Joy- Calcutta’, revolves around a young girl who aspires to become an esteemed doctor in the city. She gets into Calcutta Medical College to fulfil her dream, where she comes across a flamboyant, cocky, arrogant and devastatingly handsome boy and falls in love with him. But there is more than meets the eye. What follows is a series of events that further adds to the twist in the tale.
