It is December already! With Xmas coming up followed by New Year, 2019 is going to end soon. The year witnessed a lot of shows that received lots of love from the audience, long-running shows going offline that left the viewers with a heavy heart.
As we look back at 2019, we have prepared a list of your favorite shows that went off-air this year.
Yeh Hai Mohabbatein
After running successfully for six years, our journey with television's favorite Raman-Ishita will finally come to an end in December. The last episode of this show will be on air on 19th December.The show will be replaced with its spin-off Yeh Hai Chahatein.
Shivaay, Omkar and Rudra of the Oberoi family certainly gave family goals to us. Didn’t they? Ishqbaaaz revolved around the lives of the three brothers and their love interests Anika who eventually married Shivaay, thereafter Omkar marries sweet and bubbly Gauri and Rudra gets married to police inspector Bhavya. The show took a leap twice in the time span of three years and finally went off- air in March this year.
Dil Toh Happy Hai ji
Dil Toh Happy Hai Ji was a light hearted show starring Jasmin Bhasin, Donal Bisht, Ansh Bagri and Rohit Purohit in lead roles. The show went on air early in January but went off- air in August.
Ek Bhram…. Sarvagun Sampanna
This show starred Shrenu Parikh and Zain Imam playing the lead roles. Ek Bhram...Sarvagun Sampanna was a drama that focused on Jhanvi played by Shrenu Parikh. Jhanvi aimed to take revenge from Mittal family but eventually falls in love with Kabir Mittal, the youngest scion of Mittal family played by Zain Imam. The show was launched in the month of April and went off-air in September.
Krishna Chali London
Krishna Chali London was a Star Plus drama series. Megha Chakraborty played the protagonist, Dr. Krishna Dubey while Gaurav Sareen played Radhe Shukla and Veer’s character was portrayed by Karan Vohra. After running successfully for a year, the show went off-air on 14th June.
Qayamat Ki Raat
Qayamat Ki Raat was a supernatural drama that aired on Star Plus starring Karishma Tanna, Madhurima Tuli and Vivek Dahiya in lead roles. Despite having an interesting plot, the show came to an end on 17th February.
Main Maike Chali Jaungi Tum Dekhte Rahiyo
This rom-com show starred Srishti Jain and Namish Taneja as leads. It went off-air on 10th July after being on air for nearly a year on Sony TV.
This historical fiction drama was quite popular among the audience. Chandragupta Maurya focused on Chanakya. The lead role of Chandragupta Maurya was played by Faizal Khan. Tarun Khanna, Saurabh Raj Jain, Vikas Verma, and Sneha Wagh also played pivotal roles in the series.The show went off- air on 30th August.
Yeh Un Dinon Ki Baat Hai
Yeh Un Dinon Ki Baat Hai was one of the most popular romantic dramas that aired on Sony TV. The show featured Ashi Singh who played Naina and Randeep Rai who played the role of Sameer in the show. As the title suggests, the show was based on a love story narrated by grown-up Naina and Sameer. The last episode went on air on 16th August.
Ladies Special 2
Ladies Special was a show that focused on life of four different women from Mumbai. The first season of the show was aired in 2009 and second season was launched in 2018. The second season of the show ended on 16th August. Neena Gupta, Shilpa Tulaskar, Ashita Dhawan and Payal Sarker played the leads in the OG version.
Daastan-E-Mohabbat Salim Anarkali
Daastan-E-Mohabbat was a historical drama that aired on Colors. The show portrayed the historical love story of Prince Salim and Anarkali. Shaheer Sheikh played the role of Prince Salim and the character of Anarkali was portrayed by Sonarika Bhadoria. The show ended on 4th January.
This romantic drama that aired on Colors TV starred Shruti Sharma and Abrar Qazi in lead roles. It revolved around a local goon Raghav who falls in love with Dhanak, an IPS officer. Gathbandhan premiered in the month of January and ended on 27th November within a span of ten months.
Internet Wala Love
This Shivin Narang and Tunisha Sharma starrer was quite popular among the youth because of its new-age concept. After being on air for eight months, the show went off-air in the month of August.
Kesari Nandan with an interesting storyline was well received by the audience. The lead roles in the show were played by Chahat Tewani and Manav Gohil. The show went off air in June after a run of six months.
Roop-Mard Ka Naya Swaroop
This Colors TV drama revolved around Roop, who questioned patriarchal norms in society. The show featured Shashank Vyas and Donal Bisht in lead roles. After running successfully for a year and with a leap of 15 years, Roop-Mard Ka Naya Swaroop finally came to an end in May.
One of the most popular shows of Colors TV, Udaan came to an end this year. The show started in 2014 with Spandan Chaturvedi playing the role of young Chakor. In 2019, the show took another leap and focused on Saanvi aka Anjor and Sameer played by Tanya Sharma and Gaurav Sareen. After two leaps in the span of five years, one being the generation leap, the show finally wrapped up by the end of June.
The third season of this fantasy drama featured Pearl V Puri, Surbhi Jyoti, Anita Hassandani, Rajat Tokas and Rakshanda Khan. Naagin 3 came to an end in May this year after crossing 100 episodes mark. It's fourth season is already on air though.
Silsila Badalte Rishton Ka
Silsila Badalte Rishton Ka was a romantic drama on Colors TV. The first season aired on Colors and second season streamed on digital platform Voot. The lead role was played by Aditi Sharma, Shakti Arora, Drashti Dhami and Kinshuk Mahajan in the first season and the second season featured Tejasswi Prakash, Aneri Vajani, Kunal Jaisingh in lead roles. The show finally went off-air in July.
Jiji Maa was a family drama show that aired on Star Bharat. The show starred Tanvi Dogre and Bhavika Sharma in lead roles. Focusing on the life of two sisters this show and showing a 7- year leap, it finally went off-air in the month of February.
Kaal Bhairav Naya Rahasya
The second season of this thriller drama series on Star Bharat got wrapped up in the month of November. Kaal Bhairav Naya Rahasya starred Gautam Rode, Aditi Gupta, Kenisha Bhardwaj, Barkha Sengupta and Ahwaan Kumar as leads. The show was based on Tamil book, "Kottapurathu Veedu" by Indra Soundar Rajan.
Aap Ke Aa Jaane se
Aap Ke Aa Jaane se was a Zee TV romantic drama that shows an unusual match of a 24-year old guy and a 42-year old widow. The show featured Suhasi Dhami and Karan Jotwani as leads. It went off-air after running successfully for more than a year .
Aghori, a family drama on Zee TV had the shortest time span among all the other shows that ended this year. The show premiered in the month of June and ended on September. Simran Kaur, Gaurav Chopra and Parag Tyagi played the leads in the show.
Apart from the shows that are mentioned above, Zee TV comedy drama, Kya Haal Mr. Panchal, romantic drama, Sufiyana Pyar Mera , SAB TV comedy dramas My name ijj Lakhan, Baawle Utaavle and Zee TV dramas Humari Bahu Silk and Raja Beta also came to an end in 2019.
