With the promos of the Ridhi Dogra Vashisth - Sudeep Sahir - Disha Parmar starrer Woh Apna Sa, the audience was sure left wanting for more. After a week since the show went on-air, looks like the makers have still left us wanting to know more than what we saw.

The first week saw glimpses of everyone's story, their lives, and of course, all the shortcomings. Having seen 5 episodes of Zee TV's Woh Apna Sa, here we are with an insight into the good, the bad and all the jazz!!

The Story So Far...

The scene opens with a wedding in the house, where Sharada waits for the newlyweds Raj and Neha to welcome them in the house. While one of the typical aunty-type-friend of sorts questions about the auspicious pooja thali to Sharada, she tells her how Nisha (Ridhi Dogra Vasishth) is just the perfect person to set it up without any mistake. However, things turn out to be surprising when Nisha does it all perfectly and honors Sharada.

Later on, Baba Sa (Sudeep Sahir aka Aditya's dad) goes missing and everyone goes hither thither in search of him. Aditya asks Nisha where is he, but she has no answers to it. Enter Disha Parmar aka Jhanavi. She becomes the savior to Baba Sa and saves him from the street dogs and calms him down(with a bracelet of hers), and drops him back home. Nisha sees her, and thanks her for having dropped him home.

Being the antagonist, Nisha tells a twisted story at home and takes the credit for finding Baba Sa herself, while Aditya knows it wasn't her. Meanwhile, Aditya and Jhanavi undergo many blink and miss situations, where every time they're about to see each other, either of them turns away.

The next day, Jhanavi's sister Survi, demands her bracelet back. While the former wishes to go see Baba Sa, Survi wants her bracelet back which ultimately leads to Jhanavi going to Aditya's house. Nisha opens the door and is flabbergasted on seeing Jhanavi for she fears her secret shall be revealed. She quickly finishes off the conversation and asks Jhanavi to come some other day.

As she leaves the house, a boy asks her for money. Instead of giving him money, Jhanavi hands him a packet of biscuits. Aditya then sees her standing there and calls out for her, but, to no avail. Like all other times, they end up not seeing each other.

Later in the day, Aditya is all worked up about Nisha being the evil that she is while Jhanavi faces the wrath of her father (who left them for another woman) at her house when he comes to hand them over a cheque, to help them with the finances. This breaks Jhanavi's mom and sister down, but she somehow handles it all.

That night, before going to sleep, Aditya thinks of ways to keep his family together, while Jhanavi prays to not ever be the reason for a glitch in someone's family.

Will Jhanavi turn out to be Aditya's savior? How will Aditya keep his family together? Only time will tell what the future has in store for them!

The Good!!

The character designing is what seems to be the most satisfying. While we can feel how an innocent heart Jhanavi is, we also can relate to all the evil games Nisha plays. Aditya, on the other hand, turns out to be that typical Indian husband, who in the process of keeping his family together, has to deal with the cunning yet loved by the family, his wife, Nisha.

The portrayal of the daily drama in the house and the everyday small yet important moments is beautiful. The visuals aren't really great, yet, decently scored.

One of the best parts about the show flow is how the curiosity as to how and who will Jhanavi and Aditya turn out to be over the course of time that keeps the viewers engrossed in the show.

The Not-So-Good!!

The track might seem to be rather slow and dragged. While there is something or the other happening in the Jindal house every day, there is very little progress in Aditya - Jhanavi's track. Though a finite series for now, the makers do have to make sure that the episodes to come are rather averagely paced, and not too slow or too fast.

The Concept!

The show is supposed to be revolving around the 'Woh' in our lives. While it is clearly evident that Jhanavi (Disha) is the Woh in this story, what's worth the wait is will she turn out to be the other woman in Aditya's life, or will she be what we call a soul mate? And, if she will be a soul mate but not the other woman, we wonder how?

What we are now vouching at is the execution.

The Performances!

Ridhi Dogra is what makes this show a must watch. From being the cunning power hungry woman to the pretending to be nice yet evil bahu, Ridhi has turned out to be not just a beautiful antagonist, but, also, uplifted the story to a different level.

Balancing Ridhi's evilness, Disha has managed to give that spark to the storyline. Her full-of-life and happy-go-lucky avatar is what has been a treat to the eyes. (Her sweetness might as well give you diabetes!) What we are sure of, is that she will successfully walk out of her character 'Pankhuri' from Pyaar Ka Dard Hai...Pyaara pyaara Meetha Meetha in just a couple of more episodes with this show.

Sudeep Sahir as Aditya is just the right person to add that touch of innocence and homely feel to the show. He is a well-known household face, he is the perfect family guy - a mix of the responsibilities he manages as a son, a father, and, most importantly, the husband to the one and only, Nisha. He's acted convincingly, and at the same time, not over done it.

The rest of the cast is equally convincing and impressive.

Rating - **** (4/5)

The verdict!

Though the show runs along the typical lines of one plotting antagonist and an all good knight in the shining armor sort of protagonist; what seems to have worked well is how they actually portray all of it with utmost perfection. If the show does not go the typical other 'woman' way and brings in something interesting, we are sure it'd be a TRP topper. However, at the end, it's all about how newness is introduced in the storyline in a way never before.

I think the story will be like this:

Jhanvi, whose father left her mother for another woman doesn't ever want to be the reason for anybody's broken home, but will end up indirectly becoming the other woman in aditya's life because he becomes attracted to her finding that she has all the qualities he looks for in a woman which nisha doesn't have, and aditya maybe hides his truth about being married with jhanvi falling for him

Overtime his family discover his affair with jhanvi, and his family blame her calling her the other woman and she tries to defend herself saying she never knew he was married.

Aditya who has fallen for jhanvi will try to reveal the truth about nisha to his family so they accept jhanvi, but his attempts will backfire considering he himself his the truth about nisha being evil from the family and that she doesn't actually care about them, so they will blame his for cheating on nisha. The story will definitely go this way and it will be interesting to see how jhanvi and aditya marry.

If the story goes this way jhanvi will obviously feel cheated by aditya and will stay away from him and just like his family may also not believe that nisha is evil and will think he is lying to justify his adultery.

The story will be good to watch.
