The Tashkent Files is an upcoming Bollywood thriller movie about the death of Indian Prime Minister, Lal Bahadur Shastri. The film is written and directed by Vivek Agnihotri and boasts of an ensemble cast including actors like Naseeruddin Shah, Mithun Chakraborty Vinay Pathak, Shweta Basu Prasad, Mandira Bedi and Pankaj Tripathi.

Ahead of Lok Sabha Polls of 2019, this film will raise a political storm for sure. We already know that a full fledged biopic and a web series on current Prime Minister Narendra Modi  is already being made and it will instigate a lot of controversies and amidst that, the Tashkent Files will only be an addition.

Shweta Basu Prasad who is an integral part of the film recently shared the poster on her social media.

Shweta who started her career with Bollywood film Makdee as a child artist has done a lot of work in the south industry. In TV, she was lasts seen in Chandra Nandini opposite Rajat Tokas.
