Yesterday, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) won their first IPL title, beating Punjab Kings. Aamir Khan made a surprise appearance in the commentary box during the IPL 2025 final at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. He joined Suresh Raina and Ravi Kishan to offer live commentary in Hindi and Bhojpuri.
During a playful moment, Raina asked Aamir to name cricket's equivalent of Bollywood's "perfectionist." Aamir replied, "I used to call Sachin Tendulkar a perfectionist. I feel that Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah are perfectionists. What a bowler he is." His comments were met with nods of agreement as fans celebrated RCB's long-awaited victory.
During the broadcast, Ravi Kishan, who was with Aamir, spoke in Bhojpuri to praise the actor's upcoming film, “Main poori India ko bolna chahta hoon, ab Sitaare Zameen Par aa raha hai. Inhone mujh jaise sitaare ko movies mein wapas laya Parliament se, aur mujh jaise desi aadmi ko Oscar tak le kar gaye."
Aamir Khan returns to the big screen on June 20 with "Sitaare Zameen Par," the spiritual successor to "Taare Zameen Par," after a three-year hiatus. The film follows a football coach who guides a team of children with special needs. Directed by R.S. Prasanna and produced by Aamir Khan and Aparna Purohit, the cast includes Genelia Deshmukh.
RCB's victory was historic, as the team defeated Punjab Kings by six runs to secure their first IPL trophy, ending an 18-year wait. After the win, an emotional Virat Kohli addressed the fans, saying, “This win is as much for the fans as it is for the team. It has been 18 long years. I’ve given this team my youth, prime and experience… To finally have the IPL title is an unbelievable feeling."
Royal Challengers Bengaluru set a challenging total of 190/9 in their 20 overs against Punjab Kings after being put in to bat. Virat Kohli top-scored for RCB with a composed 43 off 35 balls. This was their fourth meeting this season, with RCB winning two previous matches, including Qualifier 1, and Punjab winning once in the league stage.
