For the viewers from back in 2000s, we are sure you will be desperately waiting for the third installment of Khichdi.

And while we have been providing constant updates about the show's development, this latest one is sure to leave you pleasantly surprised.

Eariler we mentioned how JD and Aatish Kapadia are indeed planning a Sarabhai vs Sarabhai and Khichdi merger episode, but now the plans have changed a bit as actress, Ratna Pathak Shah will indeed be a part of Khichdi, but NOT as Maya Sarabhai.

According to a leading news daily, Ratna will be taking over her mother, Dina Pathak's character from Khichdi Season 1.

Yes! That's right. Dina Pathak played the role of Babuji's (Anang Desai) mother, Badi Maa in the show and now, Ratna will be stepping into her shoes for the third installment.

Incidentally, this will also mark the reunion of sisters, Ratna Pathak Shah and Supriya Pathak on-screen after 20 years as they were last seen in Idhar Udhar (not including the cameo one-off episode of Instant Khichdi meets Sarabhai vs Sarabhai).

JD mentioned how Late Dina Pathak was an effortless actress and who better than her own daughter to take over the role in this show.

Get ready for a laughter riot with Badi Maa (Ratna Pathak Shah) and Hansa (Supriya Pathak) too!
