21-year-old Toronto Rapper Houdini was shot and killed in a downtown shooting at King Street W and Peters street. The shooting involved 2 other victims including a 15-year-old boy and a 28-year-old who are both critically injured but expected to recover. The police report on the incident claims there were around 6-10 shots fired and reports the suspects were waiting in the car for 40 minutes before the shooting took place.
Authorities confirmed that Houdini died from his injuries around 6:30 PM. Toronto Police Chief Mark Saunders told reporters that all signs point to this being a targeted shooting and that the suspects were waiting on Houdini for roughly 40 minutes prior to the attack. “It turns out the suspect vehicle, based on the evidence we have right now, was waiting for about forty minutes for the occupants of another vehicle to arrive to their vehicle,” said Saunders. “When they did, the suspect vehicle made a U-turn, came out, and started firing at this group of individuals.”
Tory Lanez took the news hard. He took to Instagram and posted a series of pictures with his fallen friend with the caption, “I’m trying , and I can’t fight the tears from falling .. i can’t even find the words for a speech right now .. YALL TOOK MY F****** NIGGA AND ALL HE WANTED TO DO WAS LIVE !!!!!! #RIP Houdini 4 Ever!”
This daytime shooting is another in a series of unfortunate shootings that have taken away Toronto artists too soon.
